La Paz Landslide

Over the weekend there was a huge landslide in the barrio of Callapa  – La Paz, Bolivia taking out close to 500 homes.

I realize Bolivia is poor, but heck Evo – establish some general building codes and do some survey work on these area’s.

If you ask me it was long overdue. Much like Greece, the general public may not like having a change to their “dreamer”/disillusioned way of life.  Bolivia evidently learned (as will Hugo Chavez) that you can’t be subsidizing this stuff, selling gas for 10 cents a gallon.

The government of Bolivia needs to get some money to spend and improve their peoples lives whether they like it or not.

When I was in La Paz for a brief few days there were two major protests on the main road… It is apparently a frequent occurance, but news like this loss of housing should be used to show the people they need more government funds to spend on the people to prevent this in the future.
